EDI Integration Engineer
The EDI Integration Engineer responsibilities will drive process improvements including automation and process changes to streamline operations processes to improve customer satisfaction. This includes the development of new integration and automation processes and the installation of these processes into Operations. The Integration Engineer will be responsible for the development of integration solutions via coding in Pervasive and SQL. Help facilitate technical aspects of customer implementations, work with implementation team on data integration tasks, and support customers post-implementation. Software support will include working with other internal departments, including account management, Implementation and Sales, to identify new system requirements and techniques for increasing the effectiveness of our applications in a customer environment.
The Role:
Data Analysis & Process Improvements (75%)
- Develop solutions for automation of Operations processes through recommended development changes or automation tools and methodologies.
- Develop processes for data acquisition from, and data feeds to customer systems and databases via integration subsystems or automated jobs
- Build data extraction processes from proprietary databases to various target systems and formats including XML, Access, ANSI X12 and Excel
- Audits output and input data
- Troubleshoots and resolves production related issues
- Some documentation required, such as database diagrams, data flow diagrams and process and integration documentation as well as defect documentation and bug categorization
Customer Maintenance (25%)
- Whether the file interface changes on either the customer or Voyager side, the functional requirements must be evaluated for impact and update accordingly.
- Custom report and data extract design and prototyping. Work to specification to develop reports and data extracts with Pervasive, Jasper, SQL or other tools .
- Data analysis
- Timely research and resolution to inquiries regarding automation, data integrity issues or problems with Voyager

Skills and Requirements:
- SQL – Advanced query, Stored procedure data extraction, cursors
- Pervasive preferred, but will consider strong Visual Basic, or similar scripting language
- ANSI X12
- XML
- Proficiency in building scripts, batch files and utilities
- Experienced large set data analysis skills
- Scheduler/Scheduling knowledge – exposure to automation practices
- This job typically requires a four year degree in computer science, information systems or a related field. Equivalent education and experience combined may be accepted.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years experience with software application development or support.
- Experience with the following technologies is strongly recommended:
- Development - SQL, Pervasive, Visual Basic, XML, HTML
- Tools: SQL Enterprise Manager
- Administration: SQL Server 2000, Win XP/2003 Server.
- Must possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with the healthcare administration industry is desirable, but not required.
